Join us on a unique sailing experience on historic M/S Hans Nilsen on Lake Saimaa, Finland. The route and programme are planned according to your wishes: our crew handles navigation and if you wish, our extensive partner network can offer you activities and meals during your stay. The home port of Hans is in Ristiina.
We can accommodate 12 people on a daytrip, 8 on overnight stays. On board we have a Finnish wooden sauna featuring a shower with hot water, a small kitchen, central heating system and a toilet.
You are welcome for a relaxed stay with your group with your own food and drinks. Or, if you prefer to have everything set up for you, our partners can organize you catering and programme. Get in touch to plan a memorable trip with us!

M/S Hans features a 25m2 salon that is well suited for meetings: we have a WiFi and electricity and can organize meeting equipment upon request.

Connect with your team on the waves of Lake Saimaa. Explore the Saimaa Archipelago together, experience the Finnish wooden sauna, dine and relax. We have enough space to comfortably accommodate a team of up to 12 members on good or bad weather.

Cruises are always tailored to your wishes on a case-by-case basis. Here are some examples of routes and packages that can be included in a cruise:
Cruise to the rock paintings of Astuvansalmi
Departure from, for example, Ristiina harbor. Viewing rock paintings and return to the port of departure. In this case, the trip will last at least three hours. The trip can also include, for example, a sauna on board. Meals can be ordered during the cruise, but you can also bring your own snacks.
Birthday cruise
Celebrate a memorable birthday party on Lake Saimaa! The duration and program of the cruise can be customized for up to 12 people according to your wishes. The package can include, for example, a scenic cruise on Lake Saimaa in Yövesi, birthday cake and coffee, and a traditional wooden sauna.
Dinner cruise
A dinner cruise on Lake Saimaa by chef Ilkka Arvola for up to 12 people, prepared from seasonal local ingredients.

Hans Nilsen has a total of 8 beds. We can arrange an overnight cruise to the Saimaa Archipelago according to your wishes.

The culturally and historically significant surroundings and the beautiful nature of Lake Saimaa provide a wonderful environment for meetings for up to 12 people. The ship has electricity and WiFi.

M/S Hans Nilsen – Sailing the waters of Lake Saimaa since 1920
Hans Nilsen was built in Vaasa in 1920 as part of W Gutzeit & Co’s fleet, which was the world’s largest inland waterway fleet at the time.
Hans is 22 meters long, 5.13 meters wide, has a draft of 2.1 meters, and a displacement of 70 tons.
Originally powered by steam, the ship now runs on an electric motor.
Maximum cruise capacity is 12 people, with overnight accommodation for 8 people.
The ship has a 230V electrical network and WiFi.
The ship has a sauna, kitchen equipment, hot water, central heating, and a toilet with a closed tank.
